Biography

Born in Foggia, Apulia, Galano started his career at Serie B and Apulian team Bari. He made his Serie B debut on 23 May 2009 (2nd last round), losing to Salernitana 2–3. He wore no.15 shirt that season.[1] In 2010 he graduated from the under-20 youth team, and loaned to Gubbio, to replace the left of Alessandro Marotta who returned to Bari.[2] He was the third team top-scorer along with Alfredo Donnarumma (both 5), behind Juan Ignacio Gómez (18) and Martino Borghese (6).[3]

He returned to Bari on 1 July and signed a new 3-year contract.[4]

International career

Italy U-16

Galano started his international career at Val-de-Marne under-16 international tournament.[5] He never capped for Azzurrini in under-17 level.

Italy U-19

He was promoted to U-19 team in December 2008, as the born 1990 class failed to enter 2009 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship elite qualification, thus the U-18 team that season would also consist of players that only eligible to the 2010 edition. He scored in his debut, winning Romania 3–1.[6][7][8] He also capped for U18 team against Denamrk U-18, his U-18 debut. Since then he played most of the fixture of U-18/19 team (born 1991 class), winning Norway U-19 in March, 2-2 draw with Ukranie U-19 (born 1990 class) in April[9][10] He played all 4 matches in U-18 Slovakia International Cup,[11] scored 2 goals.[12] In 2009–10 season, he was a regular member of the team: played in the match against Denmark U-19 and Netherlands U-19 in friendlies, 2 out of 3 qualifying matches, winning Turkey U-19 3–0,[13] 1-1 draw with Germany,[14][15] and winning Switzerland U-19 1–0 in friendlies. He played all 3 games in the elite round, with the first one replacing Marco D'Alessandro in the second half and the rest as starters. He was selected to the final round, played twice, both replacing Jacopo Sala at half time. The team failed to score any goal and finished as the least of Group B (equal 7th).

In 2010–11 season he played twice in the Four Nations Tournament. He received a call-up from Ciro Ferrara in January 2011 for a under-21 training camp and a un-official friendly against Bellinzona.[16]
