Tyco Federal Credit Union is a federally chartered credit union for employees of Tyco International, Tyco Electronics and Covidien. Tyco Federal Credit Union (Tyco Credit Union) is federally insured and regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Tyco Credit Union is headquartered in Menlo Park, California[1] with an east coast office in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Like all credit unions, Tyco Federal Credit Union is governed by a board of volunteers, elected by and from its membership.

History

Tyco Federal Credit Union was founded in 1971 as Raychem Employees' Federal Credit Union by employees of Raychem Corporation. Tyco International acquired Raychem and AMP then merged the two companies to form Tyco Electronics Group in 1999. In that same year, Raychem Federal Credit Union was renamed as Tyco Electronics Federal Credit Union to serve all US based employees of the newly formed Tyco Electronics group of Tyco International.

In 2003, Tyco Electronics Federal Credit Union was renamed Tyco Federal Credit Union to serve all US based employees of Tyco International.

In 2006, Tyco International and its Board decided to separate Tyco into three publicly independent companies, Tyco International, Tyco Electronics and Tyco Healthcare (renamed Covidien). In that same year, Tyco Federal Credit Union's field of membership expanded to include the three independent organizations.
