Cool Springs, Tennessee

Cool Springs is a major edge city for Metro Nashville located in Williamson County, Tennessee. The majority of the complex lies within the city of Franklin. A smaller part of it lies within the city of Brentwood.

The commercial center primarily serves Williamson and southern Davidson Counties, the most affluent parts of the Nashville metropolitan area, though it is considered a regional center, drawing shoppers and clients from all around the Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and North Alabama areas.

The upscale development grew around the Cool Springs Galleria shopping mall, which first opened to the public in August 1991. The area has since expanded to encompass land on both sides of Interstate 65 and includes several luxury hotels, strip malls, business parks, office buildings, McKay's Mill, big box retailers, low-rise apartments, condominiums, restaurants, and car dealerships.

Cool Springs has grown so large, many area residents consider it separate from the two cities in which it lies. The Cool Springs area is home to many major companies including Healthways, Nissan North America, MedSolutions, Community Health Systems and Tasti D-Lite. There are almost 200 restaurants in Cool Springs including J._Alexander's, Bonefish Grill, Stoney River Legendary Steaks, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Buca di Beppo, P. F. Chang's China Bistro, Chuy's, T.G.I. Friday's, Outback Steakhouse, Wolfgang Puck Express and Romano's Macaroni Grill.

In 2008, Cool Springs became the home to Nissan America's corporate headquarters. It once housed the corporate headquarters of Service Merchandise, prior to that company's 2002 liquidation.
