The Communist Party of the Soviet Union General-Secretarial election of 1917 was a contest for the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, or Chairperson, which was won by Vladimir Lenin.

Lenin took office on November 8, 1917 and held power until his death on January 21, 1924.

Leader of the Communist Party named General Secretary of the Central Committee in the law since 1968.
