The Columbus Riverballers are a team of the American Basketball Association set to begin play for the 2009-10 season. Based in Columbus, Georgia, the Riverballers play their home games on the campus of Columbus High School.
The Riverballers are the first professional basketball team in the city since the NBA Development League's Columbus Riverdragons moved to Austin, Texas after the 2004-05 season, where they are now known as the Austin Toros.
The team's first season, where they were known as the Columbus Life Tigers, resulted in a loss of 101-104 in the first round of the playoffs. The Tigers faced the West Virginia Blazers on March 6,2010 in Bluefield, West Virginia. Anthony Jackson was selected as an all-star player for the American Basketball Association 2009-2010 season; Warren Beaulah was listed in the honorable mention section.
