Cleansing Service Group is a privately owned waste management company in the United Kingdom. Cleansing Service Group provides services in the collection, treatment, recycling and disposal of numerous [1] waste streams from 20 locations throughout the UK. [2]

Cleansing Service Group was formed in 1934 by Edgar Hart under the name Hampshire Cleansing Services, specialising in domestic sewage and night soil collections from cesspits and cesspools.[3]

During the sixties, CSG were pioneers in the South with the Front End Loader – a tool now common place within the waste industry. More recently, Cleansing Service Group has won innovation awards for the treatment of various hazardous wastes in the both Hampshire Business Awards, (2009) and in the Salford Business Award, (2010).[4]

In 2010, Cleansing Service Group ranked 24th in The Sunday Times Profit Track 100 listing which ranks the UK's top 100 private firms with the fastest growing profits. This saw a leap of 36 places from 60th position in 2009. [5]
