Background

Chime Ventures was launched in March 2011 and backs start-up companies within and outside of the Chime Group in the areas of advertising and marketing, public relations, sports marketing and research.[2]

Companies that Chime has previously backed include VCCP Search, an offshoot of Chimes's advertising agency VCCP; VCCP Health; and Bell Pottinger Middle East.[3]

Key people

Chime Ventures is headed by Ian Priest, a co-founder of VCCP, one of the UK's leading advertising agencies; Lord Bell, Chairman of Chime Communications plc and advisor to Britain's Conservative Party election campaigns, including all the successful campaigns of Margaret Thatcher; and Chris Satterthwaite, CEO of Chime Communications plc.[4][5][6]

Applications process

Applicants have to submit a business plan and can submit an optional video.[7] Proposals submitted to the new division are shortlisted for pitching to a panel composed of specialists in Chime's senior management, as well as industry experts from outside the Group.[8]
