Cherukuri srisailam

Cherukuri Srisailam was a reputed nadaswaram artist of Bapatla town which is in Guntur district. The Andhra Pradesh government and many artists associations has given many awards and recognitions to him. He was born in 1924 and died December 18, 2009 in Bapatla Government hospital at 9:00PM.News papers Eenadu and Saakshi has published his death news.

Biography

He has performed many Nadaswara kacheri's in Andhrapradesh and Tamil Nadu. He performed many times in Jillelamudi and got recognised as a member of the Council and Jillelamudi ammavaru has great respect towards him. He performed Nadaswaram straight 45 years in annual temple celebrations of bhavanarayanaswamy temple.

He was married to Sarojini Devi. She died on December 2, 1986 in Bapatla town. He has 2 sons and 3 Daughters. He was mentioned in the book "Bapatla Vaibavam" which is based on the history and notable peoples of Bapatla town.
