Chelker Reservoir is a man made lake near the village of Addingham and was put into service in 1866 and serves the Bradford area; it is currently owned by Yorkshire Water. The reservoir lies next to the A65 road and its main inflow is the River Wharfe.

Chelker Wind Farm

On the north side of the reservoir is a wind farm which consists of four two-bladed turbines which generate 1.2MW and went online in December 1992 and are used to pump water from the River Wharfe up to the reservoir. Currently there are only two turbines which are still active today.
