Carlo Emmanuele dal Pozzo, 5th Prince of Cisterna (Turin, 7 January 1787 – Reano, 26 March 1864) was a nobleman and politician from the Kingdom of Sardinia. His other titles were 5th Prince of Belriguardo, 6th Marquess of Voghera, 6th Count of Reano, 8th Count of Ponderano, 8th Count of Bonvicino, 6th Count of Neive, 6th Count of Perno, among others.[1]

The Prince was a liberal, and conspired in his youth against King Victor Emmanuel I of Sardinia in order to create a constitutional monarchy. This attempt failed, and he was forced into Exile in France, from where he continued promoting the Risorgimento. In 1848, he was allowed to return to Italy, and was promoted to the rank of senator of the Kingdom of Sardinia. In Brussells, the 27 September 1846, Charles Emmanuel married Countess Louise de Mérode-Westerloo, daughter of Count Werner of Mérode, of the princely house of Rubempré, and of Louise de Spangen d'Uyternesse. The couple had two daughters.

Also, he was Baron of the French Empire.[2]

Maria Vittoria Carlotta Enrichetta Giovanna dal Pozzo, born in 1846, who married Prince Amedeo of Savoy, Duke of Aosta, son of King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy and Adelaide of Austria, who became King of Spain in 1870, under the name of Amadeo I. After the death of Charles Emmanuel, Maria Vittoria inherited all hes father's titles, which passed to the House of Savoy.
