Extracurricular

Sports

Team sports are usually divided up by autumn, winter, and spring seasons. Practice takes place either in the gym or field depending on the sport and takes place after every school day except Tuesdays and holidays. Autumn sports include cross-country, soccer, and football. Winter sports include basketball while spring sports are track, baseball, softball and lacrosse.

Music program

Charles E. Brown has a music program that includes orchestra, band, and chorus. Nearly two hundred students sing or play an instrument in one of these groups.

Orchestra

The Brown orchestra had gone through slight changes after the 2007 school year as a result of budget increases and management. Brown has its own separate orchestra instead of a joint group between Brown and Oak Hill. Both orchestras still perform and practice in Oak Hill's auditorium, albeit at different times[6]. Both orchestras are also directed by Caleb Cutler.[7]. In 2008-2009, Caleb Cutler was granted $2,500 by the Music School Music Technology Foundation. [8]
