Charlene White is a British journalist and newsreader. White is currently employed by ITN where she presents on ITV News and ITV London.

Early life

White was born in South London.[1] She attended Blackheath High School in South East London and graduated from the London College of Printing.[2]

Broadcasting career

Charlene was a presenter and Senior Broadcast Journalist at BBC Look East, Radio 5 Live Morning Reports, BBC Three 60 Seconds and BBC News.[2] She also had her own late night talk show on BBC London 94.9.[2]

In 2002 she joined Radio 1 Newsbeat and their sister digital station 1Xtra as a reporter.[2] In 2005 she teamed up with DJ G Money as presenter on 1Xtra's 2-hour news, magazine and documentary programme TX. She has also previously worked as a reporter and producer on ITV's Meridian network in Kent.[1]

Charlene presents the ITV News at 5:30 on ITV and London Today bulletins which air during Daybreak for ITV London, a position she has held since 2008.[1] She also occasionally presents the Sunday lunchtime edition of the ITV News since 2009.[3]

Writing

White had a spell as a features writer on the New York Post in America.[1]

Personal life

White lives in South London[2] and enjoys shopping.[1]
