Mimia is a prehistoric genus of very primitive ray-finned fishes.[1]

It was proposed as a distinct taxon by Gardiner & Bartram in 1977. But its genus name is not valid and will eventually be changed. It is a junior homonym of the skipper butterfly genus Mimia which was already established by Evans in 1953. The adult is as big as a child's thumb.

Ligulalepis might be the correct name, or a related but distinct genus.
