Marc-Joseph Marion Dufresne

Marc-Joseph Marion Dufresne (1724-1772) was a French explorer who was the first person to explore Van Diemen's Land, otherwise known as Tasmania. He was the first person to prove that Australia was not "terra nullius", due to his interaction with the Tasmanian Aboriginies.
