Smålands nation, Uppsala

Smålands nation is one of the student nations at Uppsala university.

Historically there have been 2 Smålands nations. The first was founded in 1645 and represented the whole of the province of Småland however this nation was short lived and in 1663 it split into two: Wexio nation representing western Småland and Kalmar nation representing eastern Småland and the island of Öland.

The current Smålands nation was formed from the Wexio nation of this split; in 1667, following a disagreement with Kalmar nation it renamed itself to Smålands.

The nation currently has around 1000 members.
