Unity Party of America

The Unity Party of America is a centrist political party with a membership in 23 states which has been officially recognized in the state of Colorado since July, 2008 [http://www.unityparty.us/unity-party-origins.htm] [http://www.elections.colorado.gov/WWW/default/Clerks%20Corner/SOS%20Approved%20Forms/2008_forms/approved_fillable_combo_vr_english_070208.pdf] . It has fielded two Congressional candidates in the 2008 election cycle (Bill Hammons in Colorado's 2nd District and Terry Ronzio in Pennsylvania's 12th District [http://electronzio.com] ). The party was founded on November 4, 2004 by the Unity Runners, which grew out of Runners for Clark, a grassroots group founded in September 2003 and dedicated to supporting the defunct Presidential candidacy of General Wesley Clark.

The Unity Party supports a Balanced Budget Amendment, a carbon tax, and the elimination of Federal income taxes on the first $30,000 of annual income. The party's motto is "Neither right nor left but forward!". [http://www.unityparty.us]
