(www.pomeroygroup.ca, www.writer44.com,www.pomeroyarabians.com) Born in 1947 in Fort St.John, BC, Pomeroy pulled himself up from a dysfunctional childhood and a minimal education (grade 6) to become one of northern Canada's most entrepreneurial multi-millionaires. He worked on oil rigs, on sheep farms, in grocery stores,in construction and in retail management with his mentor being his uncle Ralph Pomeroy. The Pomeroy family built the first hotel in Fort St.John, BC over 60 years ago and in 2008 Bob Pomeroy and his son Ryan Pomeroy opened its successor - the elegant new Pomeroy Hotel which features a gaming centre, restaurant and convention centre. In 2007 the Pomeroy Group completed the second largest hotel transaction in Canada, selling a dozen of their inns and restaurants to the Holloway Group for $214 Million. By the end of 2008 the Pomeroy Group will have opened or started building ten more facilities. Known for excellent management, faultless service and meticulous housekeeping, the hotel group is also becoming a preferred destination because of above-average beds, linens and full complimentary breakfasts.
