Walker Island is a 15 ha island in south-eastern
Australia . It lies close to the northern end ofMaatsuyker Island and is part of the Maatsuyker Island Group, lying close to the southern end of the south-western coast ofTasmania . seabird andwader species are theLittle Penguin (2-300 pairs),Short-tailed Shearwater (146,000 pairs),Fairy Prion (3000 pairs),Common Diving-Petrel (500 pairs),Silver Gull andSooty Oystercatcher . The island is a haul-out site for theAustralian Fur Seal and an occasional breeding site for theNew Zealand Fur Seal . TheTasmanian Tree Skink is present.References
