The word to (refrigerate) was started in 1550. This came about from people cooling foods with chemicals. They would add Sodium of=r Potassium Nitrate to water, which would cause a decline in temperature. By the 1840s refrigerated cars were used to transport milk and butter house to house. In 1867 the first railroad refrigerated car was designed and built by (JB Sutherland of Detroit). The car was insulated and had bunkers at each end of the car filled with ice blocks. As the train was moving air was forced through the bunkers and into the car thus cooling the foods or drinks in need of being chilled. By 1879, 35 commercial ice plants were built. There are many types of refrigerants these days. Some of them are:R-12 which is pretty much out of date but you still run in to it now and thenR-22 this type is going out of date it is still around but slowly dwindling R-404A this is the one that is taking place of R-22R-410A this is also taking place of r-22R-134A mainly for cars [ [http://www.koolit.net] ]

Refrigeration

The refrigeration in this world today is a very important thing. Without refrigeration we would have a lot of problems, it helps to keep our food and drinks could so that it will not spoil and not go to waste. Many plants (factories) these days depend on them to help keeps the ovens from overheating and shutting work down because there would be none for some places. Refrigeration also plays a big roll in heating anymore with all of this geothermal heating coming out. This process uses the earth’s temperature to either heat the house in the winter of uses it to cool the house in the summer. It circulates water in pipes that go in the ground either horizontal or vertical and the ground keeps the water at a constant temperature all the time. So as you can see we will always have refrigeration and how it has played a big roll in our lives and has actually made it nicer for us.
