Julia Hasting (b. 1970 in
Bremen ,Germany ) is agraphic designer based inZürich . She is the Design Director ofPhaidon Press , head of the design department, working together with Associate Art DirectorSonya Dyakova .Julia Hasting studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung in
Karlsruhe , Germany and finalized with a diploma in 1997. Since 1993 she designed corporate identities, posters and books for cultural clients. Among those clients were FSB - Franz Scneider Brakel Doorhandles, ZKM - Centre for Art and Media, Karlsruhe, the European Film Institute, ZKM - Media Museum, Form - Zeitschrift für Gestaltung and others.In 1998 Julia Hasting moved to
London to design books for Phaidon Press Ltd. Her designs shape to great extent Phaidon's overall design appearances and they gained numerous design awards and corresponding international publicity. In 2000 Julia Hasting moved toNew York in order to run the new design department as the Art Director for Phaidon Press Inc. She is a member of the AGI since 2000, and she taught Publication design at the design faculty of the Cooper Union School of Art in New York from 2001 to 2003.Since 2003 she has been contributing illustration work to
