Plot

Hoping to win a 50-dollar prize, the Our Gang kids enter a radio talent contest. Despite the scene-stealing efforts of Alfalfa, leader George "Spanky" McFarland selects four-year-old vocalist Darla to represent the gang with her stirring rendition of "I'm in the Mood for Love." But come the day of the broadcast, Darla is nowhere to be found. While Spanky searches for the missing singer, a nervous Alfalfa walks up to the microphone in her place, and it is his squeaky, interminable rendition of "I'm in the Mood for Love" that miraculously saves the day. cite web |url=http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/29655/The-Pinch-Singer/overview |title=New York Times: The Pinch Singer |accessdate=2008-09-21|work=NY Times]

This episode was severely edited on the Little Rascals syndicated television package beginning in 1971 due to racial content toward African Americans. Some portions were reinstated in the 2001 to 2003 showings on AMC. This episode, like most others were available on VHS home video from the 1980's through the late 1990's. It will be available in its original form on DVD as of October 28, 2008.
