Seaforth is a residential suburbFact|date=August 2008 within the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, North West England

Seaforth comes from Old Norse "sæ-fjord" "sea inlet". It was recorded as "Safforde" in 1128, suggesting Old English"sæ-ford" "sea ford". Fact|date=February 2007

Seaforth is historically part of Lancashire. Seaforth joined Crosby Municipal Borough in 1937 having previously been part of Waterloo with Seaforth urban district. The whole of Crosby became part of the new Metropolitan Borough of Sefton in 1974.

The area is situated between Waterloo in the north, Litherland to the east, Bootle to the south, with the Mersey and Port of Liverpool to the west. Seaforth is seen as limbo between Crosby and Bootle by residents. It is mainly an area of Victorian terraced housing.

Seaforth is served by Seaforth and Litherland railway station on the Liverpool to Southport line. The A565 road is the main road.
