Amy Spangler

Amy Spangler is a breastfeeding expert who has lectured extensively and published several books on nursing. She is certified as an MN, RN and IBCLC.

Spangler earned a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Ohio State University and an Master's degree in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Florida. In 1985, she authored "Breastfeeding: A Parent’s Guide", which has sold 400,000 copies to both parents and health organizations. As president of her own web-based company, Amy’s Babies, Spangler develops additional books and resources for those curious about breastfeeding.

She has worked as consultant for the Ad Council and as a commentator on various news programs including "20/20" and "Good Morning America". She is now a member of the affiliate faculty at the Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.

In addition to her online work with Amy's Babies, Spangler also contributes articles to babygooroo, a feature-driven news site that focuses on child health with an emphasis on breastfeeding.

Spangler lives in Atlanta, Georga with her husband Dennis. They have two sons, Matthew and Adam.
