"Bargain Day" is a 1931 "Our Gang" short comedy film directed by Robert F. McGowan. cite web |url=http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/225655/Bargain-Day/overview |title=New York Times: Bargain Day |accessdate=2008-09-20|work=NY Times] It was the 106th "Our Gang" short that was released.

Plot

Jackie notices that the gang's baseball equipment is missing and discovers Wheezer and Stymie were peddling this, along with other stuff from door to door. Wheezer, Stymie, and Bologna arrive at a rich family's home and they try to sell a bunch of junk to a little girl named Shirley. Stymie wanders off playing with a pet monkey, a toy lion, and sets off a burglar alarm.

Jackie, Chubby, Mary Ann, and Farina arrive at this house and Chubby gets stuck in the clothes washer, which he thinks is a fat reducer. Police arrive to investigate and find the gang there ending the story. This would be Jackie Cooper's last episode.

This film was edited by about 10 minutes on the Little Rascals television prints beginning in 1971. Most of the editing was the scenes where Stymie wanders off in the house. This was due to percieved racism toward African Americans. The edited portions were mostly reinstated in 2001 on prints shown on AMC from 2001-2003.
