GLG Partners Inc. is a publicly owned hedge fund sponsor.

It manages separate equity and fixed income portfolios and investment funds. GLG Partners was founded in September 1995 by a group of former Goldman Sachs private-client executives. The name represents the first letter of the last name of the three founding partners - Noam Gottesman, Pierre Lagrange and Jonathan Green. It has offices in Mayfair, London and Park Avenue, New York.

As of September 2008, it has $23 billion of assets under management.

It was listed on the NYSE in November 2007. Lehman has an 11 percent stake in GLG.

One of its famous traders is Philippe Jabre. Another renowned trader, Greg Coffey, is expected to depart the fund in November 2008
