County Route 51 is a county highway located in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Route description

County Route 51 consists of two segments.

Segment 1 begins at County Route 547 on the boundary of Tinton Falls and Eatontown and continues north 2.02 miles along Hope Road, intersecting New Jersey Route 18 and New Jersey Route 36, and terminating at County Route 537.

Segment 2 begins at County Route 13A and extends north 1.10 miles along Hance Avenue to County Route 520, all within Tinton Falls. ["County Roads Straight Line Diagrams", Prepared by the Monmouth County Planning Board, April 10, 2006.]

History

The Hance Avenue segment of County Route 51 was taken over as a county highway on October 5, 1960 [Resolution, Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Oct. 5, 1960] , while the Hope Road segment was not taken over until December 4, 1980.
