Gothica, is a now defunct comic book series. The main hero of the series is Kyle Whizz. He first appeared in Karone The Spy #07 (October 2006). Gothica was a short-running comic book series, running only 7 issues. It was created by Bryan Alvarado.

eason Overview

Pre-Season One

Kyle was introduced in Karone The Spy as young scared boy looking for help when his father mysteriously disappears. Since then, Kyle and Karone grow to be very good friends and even, lovers. Despite the age difference between them, Karone completely falls in love with him while Kyle decides that it's better not to get involved with someone who has such a bright future. Kyle leaves at the conlusion of "On The Last Night Of Summer" #13 to return home and deal with his newfound magical powers.

eason One

Kyle returns to The Sharo Land from Yumland to look for answers after his father is killed in front of him. Finally returning home, Kyle discovers a book left by his father in their attic. The book becomes a source of power for Kyle after touching it once. Meanwhile, a dark shadow begins to notice that the magical powers of Gothica have been released. The Shadowmaster decides to attack Kyle while he was learning how to control his new magical powers but is saved by a Light Angel. The two of them join forces and decide to take down The Shadowmaster, who has acquired a human host and is using it to gather strength from the world's shadows. Finally sending The Shadowmaster back to hell, Kyle and Ryan decide to work together to beat the evils of the world.

The Shadowmaster sends his Water Overlord shadow to destroy Kyle and Ryan, while both of them are planning a magical fieldtrip to one of SciLab's space stations. Kyle and Ryan transport themselves up to the space station only to discover that the Water Overlord shadow has captured the station and is holding the people against their wishes. Kyle and Ryan decide to take down the station by crashing it to the moon. Ryan decides to take care of transporting the people out of the station back to Earth, while Kyle figures out how to take down the station. Once completed, Kyle and Ryan succeed is crashing the station thus releasing all the water and killing the Water Overlord shadow.

The Shadowmaster decides to trap Kyle and Ryan in a shadow dimension, where he releases his Speed Overlord shadow. Kyle and Ryan take the Speed Overlord shadow on, while trying to figure out a way out of the dimension. Kyle decides to cast a spell to run as fast as the Speed Overlord shadow and challenges him to a death race. Ryan begins to research The Book Of Gothica for a way out of the shadow dimension. Kyle and the Speed Overlord shadow continue their death race while attacking each other until Ryan finally creates a sun out of Kyle's Gothica powers. Kyle uses the sun as a distraction and wins the death race against the Speed Overlord shadow, which destroys him.

Kyle and Ryan begin to fool around with the spells in the Book Of Gothica. They cast spell by accident that takes them to the future. They take their future selves bodies and discover how the world has changed in the last 10 years. Ryan finds out that he has a daughter while Kyle finds out that he took all of his time to training his magical powers. Now able to read minds, move things with his mind, freeze time and have premonitions, Kyle realizes that he has given up on his human life to become a powerful wizard. Kyle and Ryan soon discover that the world is now ruled by Kyle himself, and that everybody fears him for being corrupted. Kyle then takes it in his name to clean himself up while people begin to have doubts on who Kyle really is. The people of The Sharo Land discover that Kyle is not the real corrupted leader they have and so they begin to hunt them down. Ryan and Kyle join forces to protect themselves from all the people, who have advance magical powers of their own. Right before they're about to die, Ryan finds the spell to take them back to their own time. Kyle and Ryan begin to feel different about their futures, and they promise that they will take care of each other if they ever go through bad steps.

Months later, Kyle returns from visiting Karone after her failed pregnancy. He returns to find Ryan missing and The Shadowmaster destroying The Sharo Land. Kyle uses dark magic to locate Ryan and discovers that The Shadowmaster has twisted everything in The Sharo Land's reality to make himself king of the land. Kyle and Ryan join forces and begin to research through The Book Of Gothica for a way to fix everything. They find a spell which reverses everything but it also kills the caster and his powers. Ryan offers himself to do it, but Kyle refuses to let Ryan throw away the future that is destined for him. Kyle makes Ryan see that his future is much better than his own, with his daughter and his loving wife. Ryan decides that if they have to use the spell, then they should use it as a last resort, as they decide that it's time to destroy The Shadowmaster once and for all. Once in The Shadowmaster's castle, Kyle and Ryan begin their final battle against their enemy. The Shadowmaster knocks Ryan out while Kyle taps more into his Gothica powers. Finally ready, Kyle decides that it's better that Ryan doesn't see his sacrifice and picks up the spell from the book and begins saying it. Kyle completes the spell and in his final moment he releases his ultimate Gothica powers which destroys The Shadowmaster once and for all. Ryan finally wakes up to see that everything is back to normal, which he figures out as Kyle's final doing.

Ryan spends the next few hours trying to fix Kyle's sacrifice. Ryan goes everywhere, and to everyone through the world asking for a way to revive Kyle. After visiting Zeo Cullen and Karone, Ryan has nothing else to do than to give up. Kyle's spirit finally visits Ryan, explaining that the afterlife is much better for him, and that he is finally reunited with his loved ones. Ryan finally puts to rest his desire to bring Kyle back and decides to move on with his life. 15 years later, Ryan finds himself with his wife and his daughter looking at their newborn baby, who he has decided to name Kyle, Kyle Whizz Hartman.
