HortPark - The Gardening Hub

[National Parks Board, Singapore] HortPark is a one-stop gardening hub, bringing together gardening-related, recreational, educational, research and retial activities under one big canopy in a park setting. The 23-hectare regional park is a knowledge hub for plants and gardening and provides the platform for the industry to share best practices and showcase garden designs. It is also a park connector which connects Tekol Blangah Hill Park to Kent Ridge Park.

HortPark seeks to nurture a gardening culture as a gardening hub. It focuses on 3 key areas including learning and education, industry partnership and collaboration, and events and activities.

HortPark is a place for learning and education as it has programmes that are fun and allow interactions. A calendar of events and activities is also available for generating and sustaining long-term interest, enhancing awareness and encouraging industry partners to seek out new concepts, poroducts and technologies.

Accompanied by activities such as guided tours, talks and workshops, learning in HortPark goes beyond textbooks.

Attractions

*Garden Patch: An important feature of HortPark, consisitng of a patchwork of 40 outdoor display plots showcasing garden designs, concepts, products and ideas on home gardening.

*Silver Garden: A collection of silver, grey and white hued plants setting against a background of green dominated landscape. It is quiet during the day and somewhat mysterious at night.

*Bamboo Labyrinth: Made up of a series of circular paths contained within a grove of bamboos. It is a suitable corner for visitors who want to have a quiet place for self-meditation and personal-reflection.

*Herb and Spice Garden: Come and learn about the traditional maedicinal and culinary uses of various herbs and spices found in Singapore. Learn to grow your own herbs and spices too!

*Golden Garden: Providing visual contast to the Silver Garden and having plants spreading warmth to the surroundings.

*Green Roof: Showcasing the different types of green roof systems and plants suited for green roof planting.

*HortMart: Come to shop for gardening-related products and services! A one-stop garden center aiming to provide an extensive shopping experience for visitors. HortMart too provides value-added services including he provision of product information and landscaping's advices.

*HortGardens: A place for fun and relaxed learning. Step into a living classroom and get to satisfy your leisure and recreational needs in a unique garden environment.

*Flora Walk: An entrance to HortPark, consisting of a pleasant walkaway filled with luxuriant flowering plants.

*Recycling Garden: Provision of ideas for visitors on how to convert items deemed as trash into useful home garden accessories and other items.

*Fruit Tree and Fruited Vegetable Garden: Be able to see various types of small to medium-sized fruit trees growing in containers or within the area of a small home garden. Get to try growing your own tomatoes, watermelons or gourds. It equips everyone with educational, visual and mouth-watering experiences.

Health and fitness activities, foot reflexology, wellness, Childrens playground and a restaurant serving modern Thai cuisine for dining purposes are available in HortPark.
