Pune - Mumbai - Ahmedabad High-Speed Passenger Corridor is a proposed High-Speed rail corridor in India. This corridor was introduced for feasibility study in Indian rail budget 2009-2010. This is among the six corridors which were introduced in Indian rail budget 2009-2010 by rail minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. This project is expected to cost INR 56,000 Crores.[1][2] This corridor will be 684 km (from Pune Railway Station to Ahmedabad Railway Station via Mumbai) and will require 1 hr 52 min between Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad Railway Station (492 km) and 35 min between Mumbai CST and Pune Railway Station (192 km). However the distance from Pune Railway Station to Ahmedabad Railway Station is 634 km Via Kalyan, Vasai Road which will require about 2 hours 25 minutes. The feasibility study say that there will be 26.6 million travellers on this route by 2021. The speed limit expected for this corridor is expected to by between 300 Kmph to 350 Kmph. The expected stops are Lonavala on Mumbai - Pune section and Surat, Bharuch and Vadodara on Mumbai - Ahmedabad section. It is also expected to have 32 services between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Currently Duronto train between Mumbai Central to Ahmedabad Railway Station takes 6 hours while the Shatabdi train takes 6 hours 45 minutes to cover this 492 km long patch. As this is a High-Speed railway project it is also commonly know as bullet train between Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Pune.
