Akeld

Akeld is a village in Northumberland, England. [ [http://www.durham.gov.uk/durhamcc/K2P.nsf/K2PDetail?readform&PRN=N12978 Local history] ] It is situated to the west of Wooler. Its name is Anglo-Saxon Old English "ac-helde", 'oak slope'.
