Orlando Rage (SSFL)

The current Orlando Rage, a minor league team in the Southern States Football League with different colors and logos, has no connection with the former XFL franchise.

The team name was revived in 2003 as a member of the minor-league Southern States Football League, after a merger between the Orlando Starz and Orlando Panthers franchises. The new team's colors are reddish-orange, sky blue and silver. In 2008 the Orlando Rage participated in the Rice Bowl in Orlando's Citrus Bowl, defeating the Sarasota Millionaires by the score of 55 to 26, in the process becoming SSFL champions. MVP of the game for the Orlando Rage were WR Preston McGann and DB Jerome Lowery.

The current Orlando Rage is an adult, NFL rules Minor League Football team based in Orlando. They played in the Southern States Football League (SSFL) and now in the Florida Football Alliance (FFA) against other Minor League Teams throughout the state of Florida. The Rage, around since the late 1990s, won the SSFL Championship in 2008 and in 2009 as well as the FFA Championship "Alliance Bowl" in 2010 and many other state and national titles. Founded by Winter Park, Fl. attorney, Christopher Morrison.

In 2009 the Orlando Rage again won their championship game played in Orlando's Florida Citrus Bowl by defeating the Sarasota Millionaires by the score of 45 to 7.

The Rage currently have four former and current players admitted to the SSFL Southern States Football League Hall of Fame. The 2008 enshrinees are Christopher H. Morrison (player/owner) and PeeJay Jack (player). 2009 enshrinees are Dr. Rick Berthiaume (Staff) and Steve Casteel (Staff).

In 2010 the Orlando Rage changed leagues to play in the Florida Football Alliance (FFA). The 2010 Orlando Rage continued their success in Minor League Football by going undefeated and winning the Alliance Bowl by defeating the Miami "Magic City" Bulls in overtime by the score of 40 to 34.

In addition to three consecutive League Championships the Rage won the 2009 National Winter/Spring Championship, the 2010 Spring National Championship and were unanimously voted number one in the nation by all Minor League ranking organizations.
