Henry Kandrup

Henry Emil Kandrup (July 24 1955 – October 18 2003) was an American astronomer and professor at the University of Florida, Gainesville from 1990. His parents, Jytte and Fred Kandrup, were immigrants from Denmark.

His work led to greater understanding in the fields of stellar dynamics [D. Merritt [http://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/0502169/| Henry Kandrup's Ideas About Relaxation of Stellar Systems] ] and plasma physics. Among his notable contributions was a generalization of Jeans's theorem to non-integrable systems [H. Kandrup [http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1998MNRAS.299.1139K| Invariant distributions and collisionless equilibria] ] .
