Louis C. Midgley

Louis C. Midgley

Louis C. Midgley is a retired professor of political science at Brigham Young University. Since his retirement he has been closely involved with the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies and done many indepth studies on the thought and writtings of anti-Mormons.

Midgley was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remains a vocal defender of that faith. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Utah and holds a Ph.D. from Brown University.

Following his retirement Midgley and his wife served as Church Educational System missionaries in New Zealand.

While a professor at BYU Midgley taught a class on the Constitution and its ratification at least once a year. He also wrote about the works of Paul Tillich and Dostoevsky.

Midgley contributed the article on theology to the Encyclopedia of Mormonism. In 2005-2006 Midgley served as editor of the "FARMS Review".
