The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship of 1905 was the 19th edition of Ireland’s premier hurling knockout competition. The championship ran across three years from 1905, 1906 and 1907, culminating with the All-Ireland final, held at Tipperary on 14 April, 1907. The match was contested by Kilkenny, represented by Erin’s Own, and Cork, represented by St. Finbarr’s. Cork won that game by 5-10 to 3-13; however, the Kilkenny team launched an objection before Cork launched a counter-objection. As a result of this the game was replayed in Dungarvan on 30 June, 1907. Kilkenny won the second game by 7-7 to 2-9.

Format

The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was run on a provincial basis as usual. All games were played on a knockout basis whereby once a team lost they were eliminated from the championship. The format for the All-Ireland series of games ran as follows:
* The winners of the Leinster Championship advanced directly to the first All-Ireland quarter-final.
* Lancashire entered the championship at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage where they played the Leinster representatives.
* The winners of the Ulster Championship advanced directly to the second All-Ireland quarter-final.
* Glasgow entered the championship at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage where they played the Ulster champions.
* The winners of the Munster Championship advanced directly to the first All-Ireland semi-final.
* The winners of the Connacht Championship advanced directly to the first All-Ireland semi-final where they played the Munster champions.
* The second All-Ireland semi-final saw the two winners of the two All-Ireland quarter-finals go head to head.
* The winners of the two All-Ireland semi-finals played each other in the All-Ireland final.
