Shaving oil

Shaving oil

Shaving oil is normally a plant based essential oil used to shave facial and other body hair.

While not as well known or widely used as traditional foams (creams) and gels it is growing in popularity - largely due to its greater moisturising and glide properties and lack of potentially toxic chemical ingredients. Shaving oil manufacturers and users list many advantages to using the product including but not limited to:- elimination of razor burn due to moisturising effect- fewer cuts and nicks because of greater glide factor on skin- concentrated natural ingredients- little or no harmful chemical content- compact packaging making shaving oil ideal for travel- users can see where they are shaving- doesn't clog pores- environmental benefits of less packaging, lower transport costs, lower carbon footprint at all stages or manufacture and usage including landfill- generally costs less than foam or gel products delivering a comparable number of shaves

Shaving oil manufactures tend to be small businesses competing within niches markets. Oil has been used as a shaving aid since shaving began. Other entries on the subject are relatively hard to find without accompanying marketing information including:
