QUEST FOR DREAMS LOST

A one shot comic, was a fund raiser for the Literacy Volunteers of Chicago. It was published in 1987 and all the proceeds went to aid the LVOC. [Literacy Volunteers of Chicago "Quest For Lost Dreams" Issue No.1 1987] [ http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/LiveData/Issue.aspx?id=d4a69ee1-18d0-4426-a8c6-26db676d4086 ]

The comic included eight different shorties, all independent comics they included;

TMNT aka Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Trollords

Silent Invasion
The Realm
Wordsmith
Reacto Man
Eb'nn

Tales From The Aniverse

The different comic characters were sent on missions or quests to find various artifacts that were lost by movers (they go for a meal and the truck is gone). So after their boss freaks out he sends for real heroes to recover the items.
These include;

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) were sent to Central park to find Excalibur at the bottom of the pond. Matt Sinkage (Silent Invasion) was sent to recover the painting of Dorian Gray, Eb'nn (Sam Spayde) was sent to find the Maltese Falcon, Reacto Man recovers the Time Machine (H.G. Wells), Tales From The Aniverse J.B. Space picked up the pipe from The Pied Piper of Hamelin, Wordsmith went out to find the ring belonging to The Shadow, the adventurers from The Realm took on the Wicked Witch of the West to get the Ruby Slippers, The Trollords were sent into Hell to face Charon (or ferryman of Hades) on the river Styx to take his staff. The idea behind all of these was to give new readers a hint at the various classic stories they may have been missing out at.

The Original cover price of this comic was 2.00 and this was the only issue produced in this series. But there was another comic put out by the Literacy Volunteers of Chicago titled Word Warriors [ Literacy Volunteers of Chicago, "Word Warriors", Jan 1987 ] which featured the characters Streetwolf, Sable, and Ms. Tree.
