2008 Summer Olympics

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Avitia finished her ranking round with a total of 641 points. This gave her the 20th seed for the final competition bracket in which she faced Son Hye-Yong in the first round, beating the archer from North Korea with 112-107. In the second round she was too strong for Malgorzata Cwienczek with 110-109 and via Khatuna Narimanidze (109-108) she achieved her place in the quarter final. There she was eliminated by Kwon Un-Sil with 105-99.^[1]
