Mani Ram Bagri is a prominent politician from India. At his peak he was one of the most renowned leaders in Indian Parliament. Mr. Bagri is a subject of various folklores in the states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to the league of Socialists like Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and Jayaprakash Narayan.[1]
He represented Hissar and Mathura constituencies in the Indian Parliament.[2] A three time Parliamentarian, he was part of the 3rd Lok Sabha (2.4.1962 - 3.3.1967) as a Socialist member from Hissar (then part of Punjab state), the 6th Lok Sabha (23.3.1977 - 22.8.1979) as a Janata party member from Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) and the 7th Lok Sabha (10.1.1980 - 31.12.1984) as a Janata (S) member again from Hissar (Haryana).
Renowned as an orator par-excellence Mr. Bagri is famous for his wit and depth of understanding. Having risen from a very poor family Mr. Bagri spent most of his life fighting for the underprivliged of the Indian Society.
