Japanese hair straightening

Japanese hair straightening

Japanese hair straightening, also known as thermal reconditioning, is a method of permanently straightening human hair.

This process is different from that of using relaxers to smooth out the hair. Chemicals are applied, the hair is ironed, piece by piece, and then rinsed and blow dried. The procedure takes two to eight hours, depending on the length, thickness and condition of one's hair.
