Ann Medina

Ann Medina is a Canadian television journalist and documentary producer.

Born and raised in New York City, Medina studied at Wellesley College, Harvard, the University of Edinburgh and the University of Chicago. She began her television career in Chicago, becoming a network producer for NBC News, and a correspondent and producer for ABC News.

Medina moved to Canada in 1975 after marrying a Canadian. She worked for CBC Television for many years, becoming senior foreign correspondent for "The Journal" in 1981 and extensively covering the Middle East. Her documentaries also aired regularly on BBC’s "Newsnight" in the United Kingdom and PBS’s "MacNeil-Lehrer Report" in the United States.

In 1988, Medina left the CBC to become a freelance journalist and a resident at the Canadian Film Centre. She hosted the leaders debates in the 1993, 1997 and 2000 federal elections and the 1995 and 1999 provincial elections in Ontario. She has also hosted programming for CBC Newsworld and History Television, and played a television reporter in the films "Zero Patience" and "".

Medina has also served on the boards of TVOntario and Humber College.
