In October 2007, the offices of "The Kathmandu Post" were attacked by the All Nepal Printing and Publication Workers' Union, a group connected to the former Maoist rebels. The printing press was vandalised, stopping the paper from being published. Two-hundred journalists and legal professions marched in Kathmandu in protest at the attacks.cite web|url=http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/10/02/asia/AS-GEN-Nepal-Journalists-Protest.php|title=Nepalese protest in capital over attack on newspaper|date=2007-10-02|work=International Herald Tribune|publisher=Associated Press|accessdate=2008-08-12]
