Assumption of the Virgin (Botticini)

The Assumption of the Virgin is painting by Francesco Botticini.

This painting shows Mary ascending into Heaven which is commonly known as the assumption of the virgin. It shows the disciples gathering around the tomb of Mary. They are amazed at Mary's assumption. She is shown re-united with her son Jesus who also ascends to Heaven.
