Mixenden is a village in Calderdale, on the outskirts of Halifax in the county of West Yorkshire, England. It had a bad reputation during the 1970s due to social problems and unemployment. A lot has been done to regenerate the area but with its isolation 3 miles northwest of Halifax and not being linked up to other neighbourhoods, it is still tarnished throughout Calderdale. Mixenden has a large reservoir to the North West of the village.
