The La Piedad Institute of Technology is a public University located in La Piedad, Michoacán, Mexico. It was founded in 1990. It is part of the Mexican public education system (SEP) and offers several careers. This institute is one of the two most important universities in the state of Michoacán.fact|date=September 2008

History

In 1990 the institute started operations in the buildings of another college, the CBTis 84 with the concentrations of Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Systems Engineering and Informatics.Several years later it added a concentration of Electronics Engineering.Throughout all this 17 years, the 'Tec La Piedad' as is also friendly known, is has been positioned as the most important university in the city, because of the high academic level demonstrated by winning in several times, firsts, seconds and thirds places in the creativity contests, where participates all the institutes of technology of the country.

It has also been venue of regional sport's tournaments, where the students took part in basketball, tennis, soccer, among other.

Student life

It is taught the English as a foreign language, also it has become a tradition in the city the "Mexican Night" that every year is organized in the campus and where all the people, whether they're students or not are welcome to attend the typical dish contest, and the stands that the students set up. That day there's also music and a space to dance and visitors can taste Mexican delicacies.
