International Workshop on Balto-Slavic Accentology

International Workshop on Balto-Slavic Accentology (abbreviated IWoBA) is annually held international conference on the topic of comparative and historical Balto-Slavic accentology, including the prehistory and history of separate Baltic and Slavic languages, as well as synchronic and dialectal issues that have to do with accentology.

The first conference was held in Zagreb 1-3 July 2005, under the organization of Croatian linguists Ranko Matasović and Mate Kapović. It proved to be an immense success, and with contributions of world's foremost Balto-Slavists, Baltists and Slavists was thus soon continued as IWoBA II (Copenhagen 1-3 September 2006, organized by Thomas Olander, Adam Hyllested and Jenny Helena Larsson), IWoBA III (Leiden, 27-29 July 2007, edited by Rick Derksen and Drs. T. Pronk) and IWoBA IV (2-3 July 2008, Scheibbs). IWoBA V is going to be organised in July 2008 in Opava, Czech Republic, by Roman Sukač.
