Edenvale (San Jose)

Edenvale is a mostly residential area of South San Jose, California.

Areas of interest include Hayes Mansion; Edenvale Garden Park; the Edenvale Public library at East Branham Lane and Monterey Road; Great Oaks Park; Dana Rock Park; Coyote Creek Park; and Hellyer Lake Park near Highway 101.

The Blossom Valley and Santa Teresa areas are considered to be south of Edenvale, and the Seven Trees area is considered north of Edenvale.

History

One of the oldest buildings in the area is Hayes Mansion. The railroad and historic Monterey Road runs through the area, which is also known as El Camino Real and California State Route 82.

The most popular recent history of the neighborhood includes Frontier Village, which was an amusement park operated from 1961 to 1980. Most of the land was redeveloped into residential housing.
