IEEE P1675

IEEE P1675

IEEE P1675, what the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers calls the Standard for Broadband Over Power Line Hardware, intends to provide electric utility companies with a comprehensive standard for installing hardware required for broadband internet capabilities over their power lines. The standard will enable utilities to quickly develop a BPL program without the tedious task of investigating every possible hardware solution for safety and usability.

The standard is targeted for completion in mid-2006.
