1946 VFL Grand Final

The 1946 VFL Grand Final took place on October 5, 1946 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between VFL clubs Essendon and Melbourne.

Essendon won comfortably by 63 points despite trailing at half time. A tally of 11 goals and 8 behinds in the third quarter by Essendon took the game away from Melbourne. Wally Lock, Melbourne's half back, was celebrating his 100th VFL game.
