Arturo Alonso

Arturo Alonso (born in 18 September 1972 in Granada, Spain) is a Spanish human rights activist. He was the first man in joint custody in Spain.Citation: "Court of Justice Number 10 of Family in Granada- Spain - 9 de Sep, 2003 " He started a crusade against judges and politicians to achieve equality of rights between men and women after separation or divorce. Although Arturo Alonso is of Sephardic origin he is supported by Opus Dei which pressured the Roman Catholic Church to support joint custody.

Biography

Arturo Alonso was born on September 18, 1972 in the city of Granada, son of Francis, a bank employee of Castilian origin and son of Estrella Crypto-jewish or Crypto-Judaism descent.

He lived during the first ten years of his life in the city of Motril. His childhood was marked by the social climate surrounding then Spain of Francisco Franco.
