Valentina Igoshina

Valentina Igoshina (born 1978) is a Russian classical pianist.

Personal life

Valentina Igoshina was born in 1978 into a family of musicians. Igoshina studied piano under Sergei Dorensky and Larissa Dedova at the Moscow Central Music School and the Moscow State Conservatory.

In 1993 she won first prize at the International Young Pianist Competition in Poland. She won first prize at the Rachmaninov Piano Competition in Moscow in 1997.

Since that time, Igoshina has won several prizes in a several competitions, including:
*II prize of Atlanta international competition (2002)
*I prize of “Guliano Pecar” (2002)
*Laureat of "Queen Elisabeth Competition" in Brussels (2003)

Igoshina has participated in several musical festivals, including:
*Ohrid Summer
*Dushniki Zdori
*Bath Festival
*Ravello music

Igoshina has played as a soloist with many famous orchestras:
*London Philharmonic Orchestra
*Halle Orchestra
*Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
*Sophia Philharmonic Orchestra
*BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra

She has recorded many CD's and other music on BBC Radio 3, Classical FM, Scottish BBC and sound tracks to Tony Palmer's movies “The Harvest of Sorrow” and “The Strange Case of Delphina Potocka”.
